Hood River County School District is excited to welcome students and staff to school campuses. The first day of school for many students is Monday, Aug. 28, 2023. Please see below for the first week of school schedule. For the daily schedule, please visit this webpage.
First Week of School Schedule
Elementary KindergartenCascade Locks, May Street, Mid Valley, Westside Elementary Schools: Family interviews on Monday, Aug. 28, and Tuesday, Aug. 29; 1/2 of kindergarten students for a full day on Wednesday, Aug. 30, and 1/2 of kindergarten students for a full day on Thursday, Aug. 31; First full day for all kindergarten students on Friday, Sept. 1.
Parkdale Elementary School: 1/2 of kindergarten students for a full day on Monday, Aug. 28, and 1/2 of kindergarten students for a full day on Tuesday, Aug. 29; Family interviews on Wednesday, Aug. 30, and Thursday, Aug. 31. All enrolled elementary and middle school students are provided with school supplies at their neighborhood schools. High school teachers will share a school supply list with students and parents to help them prepare for the upcoming school year.
School Meals
Students at Cascade Locks, Mid Valley, and Parkdale Elementary Schools, along with Wy'east Middle School, receive free school meals (breakfast and lunch). Students at May Street and Westside Elementary Schools, along with Hood River Middle School and Hood River Valley High School need to complete a free and reduced meal application this year. School Transportation
The school district provides transportation to all enrolled students if they need it. The bus routes are posted on this webpage. Please complete the new student enrollment form or the returning student registration form to request transportation services. To find those forms, please visit the enrollment webpage.
