• Position 5 - Tom Scully

    Tom Scully - HRCSD Board Director The love of mountains and recreation brought Tom to the Hood River Valley originally in 1984 shortly after graduating from Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego. The love of skiing, travel and a strong sense of curiosity took him across the country and back until 1988 when he returned to Mt. Hood during summer break from college for a lift installation job. The temporary summer job ultimately led to permanently relocating in Parkdale where he continues to enjoy a 30+ year career in the ski industry where he now does risk control consulting for ski resorts.

    Tom continues his life-long educational journey which has been heavily influenced and rooted in the ski and ropeway industries. Tom is an active volunteer member of numerous industry committees and educational groups including ANSI ASC B77, multiple ASTM committees, is the current President of OITAF-NACS and also works with numerous ski industry organizations where he helps to educate the newest lift mechanics, operators, and other industry employees.

    Tom resides in Parkdale with his wife Melissa and their two dogs and the younger of two children who attends Hood River Valley High School. Tom is a lifetime member of the Hood River Crag Rats, a prior Parkdale Fire Department and little league softball volunteer, former HRCSD Budget Committee member and has been on the Board of Directors since 2015. In his free time he enjoys all forms of climbing, skiing and cycling, camping with the family and reading.
