Position 5 - Tom Scully
The love of mountains and recreation brought Tom to the Hood River Valley originally in 1984 shortly after graduating from Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego. The love of skiing, travel and a strong sense of curiosity took him across the country and back until 1988 when he returned to Mt. Hood during summer break from college for a lift installation job. The temporary summer job ultimately led to permanently relocating in Parkdale where he continues to enjoy a 30+ year career in the ski industry.
Tom continues his life-long educational journey which has been heavily influenced and rooted in the ski and ropeway industries. Tom is an active volunteer member of numerous industry committees and educational groups including ANSI ASC B77, multiple ASTM committees, is the current Vice President of OITAF-NACS and has also been a long-term planning committee collaborator with the Pacific Northwest Ski Area Association where he helps to educate the newest lift mechanics, operators, and other industry employees.
Tom resides in Parkdale with his wife Melissa and two children who attend Hood River County Public Schools. Tom also is a current life-time member of the Hood River Crag Rats, a little league softball volunteer and enjoys all forms of climbing, skiing and cycling; camping with the family and reading.
