Member at Large - Rich Truax
Rich Truax moved to Hood River with his wife Svea and children Elle and Connor 13 years ago. Rich grew up in Guilderland, New York, graduated from Guilderland Public High School, and went on to an A.A.S. Degree in Forest Technology via community college. Subsequently, Rich completed a B.S. Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York (12/86).
Rich worked in environmental engineering consulting for 30 years, making his way from Boston to Fort Collins, Colorado to Seattle, Washington. Rich was promoted to Operations Manager of a 60 person office in Seattle, and later became West Coast Regional Manager. Rich now runs a small engineering consulting firm with his wife in Hood River.
Rich has coached Dynamos soccer via Community Education, was president of the Cooper Spur Ski Race Team, was an assistant for local Boy Scout Troop 282, and volunteered as his kids made their way through school. In addition, Rich has attended many school board meetings as an interested citizen, assisted on bond oversight committees, facilities committee, budget committees, and campaign committees. Rich is committed to the District Mission of Excellence for Every Student Every Day. He is also committed to communication with all areas of our District from Cascade Locks to Hood River to Odell and Parkdale.
