  • HRVHS will have a “One-Hour Late Start” on Friday May 4th.

School buses will run on their normal operating schedule.   Classes will start 1-hour later than normal.  Teachers and staff will be available during that one-hour for students to get extra help, to make up quizzes or tests, or to just help students get some work done.

  • Oregon’s State Tests

    • Challenge your child to think critically and apply his or her knowledge to real-world problems
    • Go beyond multiple choice and ask your child to explain his or her answers
    • Act as a snapshot of your child’s progress and may be considered along with other pieces of information to determine your child’s academic success.
    • Help identify schools and districts that need additional supports to ensure more students are meeting higher standards.

House Bill 2655 permits parents and adult students to annually opt-out of Oregon’s statewide summative tests in English Language Arts and Math by submitting the official form to the school the student attends.

You can locate Oregon Department Of Education’s official Opt Out form from your school’s front office or on our website at: http://www.hoodriver.k12.or.us/domain/1158. To best support your school in planning, please submit this form to your child’s school by February 1, 2018.

Please talk to your child’s teacher or school principal if you have any questions or want to learn more.
