• The Student Success Act is historic and uncharted territory. It means expanded opportunities for our students. It also means this is the first time our community embarks on a process like this. Here is a basic overview of what you can expect.

October 1 to November 1 - Our district and schools solicit community input. Input will inform the plan our district submits to the Oregon Department of Education to receive funds for the purpose of addressing the following key areas: Class size reduction, increased instructional time, student health and safety needs, and ensuring a well-rounded education.

December - Submit Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) to ODE. This includes a "needs assessment" that will be informed by student achievement data, community input and more.

January to February - Draft plan for how our district plans to use funds from the Student Investment Account (SIA), the account within the Student Success Act dedicated to helping schools improve in the following key areas: Class size reduction, increased instructional time, student health and safety needs, and ensuring a well-rounded education.

March to April - Refine plan with input from the school board and community. Finalize and submit to the Oregon Department of Education to lock in funds.

Summer 2020 - HRCSD starts receiving funds to implement and act on plans for class size reduction, increased instructional time, student health and safety needs, and ensuring a well-rounded education.
