Communications

The communications office serves as a liaison between the school district and the community, with the primary purpose of maintaining accurate and timely communication with all stakeholders. We believe that providing clear communication; soliciting and listening to feedback; and engaging staff, students, families, and the Hood River County community are important for student success.

The communications office collaborates with schools and departments to ensure staff, students, families, and community partners are informed and provided regular opportunities to be part of the school experience. The communications director:

  • Helps plan family and community events;
  • Reports district and school news;
  • Works with the news media to spread the word about our schools;
  • Creates materials to provide equitable access to school experiences, and more.

We aim to celebrate the success of its students and the innovative work of its educators. If you have a story you would like our school district to share, please feel free to reach out. You may see your story featured on the school district website and/or social media pages!
