Dual Language

Dual immersion education integrates native English speaking and native Spanish speaking students in the same classroom. Students develop oral and cognitive academic language in both English and Spanish while mastering grade level knowledge and skills in all elementary content areas. Our Dual Language Immersion program is housed at Mid Valley Elementary School as well as Wy'east Middle School, leading ultimately to the seal of biliteracy upon graduation from Hood River Valley High School.

The goal of the dual language immersion program is to honor and develop multilingual, multi-literate, and multicultural students through rigorous, culturally inclusive education that ensures our school district's vision of excellence for every student every day.
