Long-Range Facilities Planning

The purpose of the Hood River County School District Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee (LRFPC) is to serve as a Superintendent’s Committee responsible for developing a comprehensive, ten-year plan for capital improvements and facility needs. Comprised of community members, the committee will review existing facility conditions and demographic data, assess district properties, and consider community feedback. The LRFPC will recommend a prioritized list of facility improvements and financing options to the School Board, which will be used to inform official decisions.

  • Review and Assess: The committee will review the district’s Buildings Condition Assessment to identify facility needs and will assess district-owned properties to identify development opportunities and constraints.
  • Plan and Timeline: The LRFPC is charged with developing a long-term plan and timeline for addressing capital improvement projects.
  • Data and Feedback: The committee will review demographic data, including population and enrollment projections, and will consider community feedback when creating its recommendations.
  • Recommendations: The LRFPC will recommend a prioritized list of facility improvements for the next ten years, along with financing options, to the School Board for their consideration.
  • Authority: The committee serves in an advisory role and does not have independent authority to obligate district funds or issue directions to the administration.
