Update:  April 2nd, 2020

Hey, everybody! I hope you're all hanging in there and are ready to start back to school(#thenewnormal) in the next week or so. I'm still learning some of the platforms that we will be using, but I believe we will use Google Classroom as our home base, before I send you out to other resources. My first concern is actually your well-being, and then developing the best way for us to stay in communication, whether that is email, video calls, a messaging service, or something I don't even know about.

In terms of your well-being, please email me if you are in need of some assistance, be it food, school supplies, mental health support, or a concern for your physical safety. The learnin' can wait; your health and safety cannot.

In the next few days, I will be reaching out to each of you and trying to make sure you are connected. Once we have established that and figured out the best lines of communication, we will start with some review before moving on to new information (beginning April 13th).

I will have "office hours" Monday-Friday from 10-12. I'll be available via email and I'm working on linking my phone to the school number (sorry, I'm not giving you all my cell number). I'll be checking the comments on Google Classroom, as well. The district has asked us not to do video chats/Zoom/etc., for the time being.

I think that's about it for now. If you are connected enough to see this update, drop me an email or post a comment on the Google Classroom stream, just so I can begin to get an idea of who is out there.

Miss you all (well, most of you anyway),

    Mr. Lorenzen
