Hello! This is my eighth year teaching at May Street Elementary and I have loved every minute of it. This is my eleventh year in the Hood River School District. I worked for three years at Cascade Locks School working with the special education students, middle and elementary readers and ELL students before joining the May Street staff in 2010.

I graduated from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire with a B.A in Elementary Education & Special Education in 2006. I minored in Adventure Education as well.   I have an Oregon Reading Endorsement and Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Portland State University.

I am from the east coast, where I grew up in Massachusetts. I moved to Hood River in May, 2007. The Columbia River Gorge is an amazing place to live and play. I enjoy anything outdoors including skiing, hiking, and floating in the lakes and rivers. As most of my students know, I play rugby and spend most of my weekends traveling around the country playing at an elite level. I currently play in the USA Rugby's Women’s Premier League with ORSU Women!!!

I believe strongly in a growth mindset for myself and for all students. In my classroom we work together to set goals and learn about perseverance and hard work. We use positive self talk and believe in the power of YET. We may not be able to do it YET, but we can do hard things and grow our brains!
