Our teachers are all highly qualified; our facilities are planned to provide quality space to learn and our developmentally appropriate curriculum is matched to state and national standards. The diversity of our students and staff prepares our students for the multicultural world in which they will live and work. Here is what we offer:
Music, Art, PE and Library: Our kindergarten students are taught both PE and music by licensed classroom teachers. Our school libraries provide great materials to encourage students to become readers. Artists-in-residence supplement discipline-based art instruction in our classrooms.
Special Services: Our schools provide student support specialists (counselors), school psychologists, special education teachers, speech language therapists, physical and occupational therapists, and reading specialists on staff at no cost to parents for children who are eligible for these services.
Meals: Our schools participate in the National School Breakfast and Lunch programs. Nutritious, low-cost meals are available daily. We offer free and reduced-priced meals to qualifying applicants.
Extended Day Services: All of our elementary schools offer extended day services for a minimal fee: Right At School (after school program) is offered at May Street and Westside; ExCel at Cascade Locks, Mid Valley and Parkdale and ExCel Plus at Mid Valley.
Please Visit: Parents of incoming students are welcome to schedule a school visit in order to acquaint themselves with the school. Please make arrangements in advance with the school secretary in order to ensure staff will be on hand to provide a tour and answer questions that you may have.
Be a Volunteer: We encourage parents or guardians to play an active part in their child's education, in and out of the classroom. Volunteer opportunities provide you with a chance to help your child get a great education.
