INTRADISTRICT TRANSFER

Allows resident students to transfer from one Hood River County school to another Hood River County school.

• Decisions are made based on hardship and capacity.
• Only approved for one school year. Will need to reapply for the following school year.
• Applications may be initiated at any time during the year. Download form online and return to your resident school.

INTERDISTRICT TRANSFER

Allows non-district students to transfer into Hood River County School District or vice versa.

• Decisions are made based on hardship and capacity.
• Applications may be initiated at any time during the year. 

INTRADISTRICT TRANSFERS allow resident students to transfer from one Hood River County school to another Hood River County school.  Intradistrict Student Transfers are approved for one school year only. All students must qualify for hardship to be approved for an Intradistrict Student Transfer regardless of grade level, sibling status on open enrollment, siblings of students in specialized programs, or parent employment with the school district. INTERDISTRICT TRANSFERS are for resident students who want to attend a school in another school district or non-resident students who wish to attend a Hood River County school. Students must complete transfer paperwork at both resident and non-resident school district offices. Both school districts must approve the transfer before it can be finalized. There are two ways to attend the Hood River County School District (HRCSD) if you reside outside of Hood River County. 

• To transfer from another Oregon school district
• To pay tuition

Transfer from another Oregon school district

The Hood River County School District Board of Directors approved up to 30 Oregon students being permitted to attend Hood River County schools through Inter District Transfer. If a student is granted an Inter District Transfer, they can maintain their spot until graduation. If they leave the school district for any reason, they will not be automatically granted a space to return and will have to reapply. 

A student wanting to attend school within Hood River County School District must follow these steps:

1. Obtain a release form from their resident district. 
2. Submit the approved release to the superintendent's office, hrcsd.superintendent@hoodriver.k12.or.us

The request will be evaluated based on space at the requested school and grade level.

Pay tuition

The Hood River County School District accepts applications for students who reside out of the Hood River County School District attendance area and wish to pay tuition. The HRCSD Board of Directors approved up to 10 students being permitted to attend Hood River County schools through tuition. The cost of tuition for out-of-district students for the 2024-25 school year is $10,139 for each child.
