Hood River County School District (HRCSD) is enrolling kindergarten and new students for the 2025-26 school year. Families with children who will be five years old by September 1, 2025, are encouraged to enroll their children in their neighborhood elementary school.

To support this important transition, HRCSD will host a Kindergarten Open House on Thursday, April 24, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at each neighborhood elementary school. This event will introduce incoming kindergarten families to the school community, provide essential information about the kindergarten experience, and create an early connection between families and the school.

What to expect at the Open House

Families will have the opportunity to meet the principal, kindergarten teachers, and staff members, followed by a brief introduction to the school and its mission. A guided tour will showcase kindergarten classrooms, the playground, and other key areas of the school. Teachers will provide an overview of the kindergarten program, including the daily schedule, learning expectations, and the importance of social-emotional development. School staff will be available to assist families with enrollment paperwork, and the event will conclude with a casual social opportunity for families to connect.

• Who should enroll? Children who have not attended an HRCSD school during the 2024-25 school year.

All returning HRCSD students must complete annual student verification in the summer of 2025. Families will receive more information at that time and should not use the new student enrollment form for returning students.
