Hood River County School District (HRCSD) is enrolling kindergarten and new students for the 2026-27 school year. Families with children who will be five years old by September 1, 2026, are eligible to enroll their children at their neighborhood school within HRCSD.

New student enrollment is exclusively for children who have not attended a school within HRCSD during the current 2025-26 school year. To enroll new students, families must complete an online form available on the HRCSD website. Attendance areas for each school are determined by geographical boundaries and can be found on this webpage.

Following Oregon Department of Education (ODE) guidance, HRCSD recommends enrolling students in grades according to their age.

Kindergarten Orientation

Elementary school principals and staff will host special informational events for incoming kindergarten families this spring. Kindergarten Orientation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at each neighborhood elementary school.

Returning Students

All current HRCSD families must verify the information for each student who was enrolled during the 2025-26 school year and will return for 2026-27. Please do not use the new student enrollment form for returning students. Information regarding the online verification form for the 2026-27 school year will be sent to returning families in the summer of 2026.
