Streamlining our ParentSquare communications

During our recent biannual surveys and community focus groups, one piece of feedback came through loud and clear: the volume of separate messages arriving throughout the day can feel overwhelming.

We want to make sure the updates you get from us are helpful, not a distraction. To directly address your feedback and help clear out your inbox, the school district is updating all ParentSquare default notification settings to "Digest."

What does this change mean for you?

  • If you have already customized your notifications this year: You are all set! This update will not change anything for you. Your account will keep the exact preferences you chose.

  • If you haven’t touched your settings yet: Your account will automatically switch to the new "Digest" default.

What is a "Digest"?

Instead of receiving individual notifications every time a message is sent, a Digest packages everything into one single daily update sent at 6:00 PM. This includes posts from the school district, your child’s specific school, teachers, coaches, and activity leaders.

Note: Emergency alerts and urgent, time-sensitive updates (like weather delays or school closures) will always bypass the digest and send instantly, no matter what your settings are.

Customize ParentSquare your way

You are always in control of how and when you hear from us. You can change your preferences at any time by logging into ParentSquare and updating two main choices:

  • When you get updates: Choose Instant (right when it's posted) or Digest (the 6:00 PM bundle).

  • How you get updates: Choose any combination of Email, Text, and/or App Notifications.

If you like the idea of a single evening recap, you don't need to do a thing! If you prefer real-time updates, simply log into your account or open the ParentSquare app, go to your account settings, and adjust your notification preferences.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and for partnering with us to keep our school community connected!
