    RE: Positive COVID Case

    Dear Students and Families,

The Hood River County School District has confirmed that one or more people at your child’s school have been diagnosed with COVID-19.  We are following the Center for Disease Control, Oregon Health Authority, Oregon Department of Education, and the Hood River County Health Department’s processes and guidance during this pandemic and are unable to share any more details with you about the positive case(s) to protect confidentiality.

Students and staff that have been in close contact with the confirmed case(s) will be contacted.  At this time, your child is not considered a close contact.

If you have questions about your child’s health, you are encouraged to call your child’s medical provider.  If your child does not have a medical provider, you can contact the Hood River County Health Department for assistance. In the meantime, please continue to reinforce health safety practices with your child.  Have your child practice social distancing, including avoiding group settings, and staying at least 6 feet away from other people. Regular hand washing and use of hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available is important.  Check in with your child regularly and ask them how they are feeling.

We will continue to keep in communication with you.  If you have any questions, please call the school at 541-354-1691.  If you have medical-related questions, those should be directed to your child’s medical provider.

    Sincerely,

    Kim Yasui
