Hood River County School Board Appoints Dr. David Russo to School Board

Dr. David Russo is sworn in to HRCSD board. In a special session on Wednesday, the Hood River County School District Board of Directors appointed Dr. David Russo to Board Position 2. Dr. Russo is a physician with extensive community involvement experience as sponsor and volunteer with community events like Kiteboard for Cancer, Columbia Gorge Children’s Advocacy Center and Hood River Streets Alive. He is also an active member with the May Street Parent-Teacher Organization and has  served on the district’s budget committee, finance advisory and bond oversight committee, and has prior school board experience.

In his application, Dr. Russo said, “I want to serve on the Hood River County School District Board because there are a variety of pressing issues and key operational priorities—school attendance boundaries, Superintendent recruitment and retention, and ongoing bond and levy activities—that require focus on continuity. I hope to bring to the Board the benefit of my previous experience and knowledge of District strategy and history to help position the HRCSD to favorably move forward.”

Dr. Russo was appointed to fulfill the term that will run from April 24, 2019 to June 2021. This is his second term serving Hood River County School District.
