HRCSD educators in queue to receive vaccinations

Governor Brown announced that educators will begin to receive the vaccine, starting on January 25. Hood River County School District (HRCSD) is collaborating with the Hood River County Health Department and local health providers on offering vaccine doses to HRCSD educators as efficiently as possible. Educators are included in Phase 1b of the county’s vaccination plan and are in queue to receive vaccine doses as soon as they arrive in Hood River County.

HRCSD developed a prioritization list for vaccinations to address possible limitations in supply of vaccine doses. The school district prioritized staff who are essential to district operations, cannot work remotely, and/or are participating in limited in-person instruction (LIPI) with students.

School district educators are not required to be vaccinated. HRCSD human resources is notifying staff as vaccine doses become available and providing staff the necessary information to proceed with scheduling a vaccination appointment.

The Hood River County Health Department (HRCHD) is leading the vaccination efforts. The health department has managed the process efficiently and effectively, using every dose of vaccine it has been given to help individuals within Hood River County.
