First Earth Club Meeting!!!

Posted by Sarah Lyon on 10/7/2020 11:00:00 AM

First of all, I'm so excited to be working with such a wonderful group of middle school students, starting HROA's first Earth Club.

What is Earth Club?

Our club will focus on appreciating the natural world,  environmental stewardship/advocacy, and community building.

We plan on connecting with a local agency that can help us identify and take action on an environmental issue Hood River faces.

We also plan to meet weekly on Wednesdays at 11am through Google Meets to do smaller Earth Friendly projects and activities that support our mission. If you can't make the meeting, no worries! I will be posting all the information on this blog.

This week we introduced ourselves and shared:

1. Our First Nature Memory

2. Why we signed up for Earth Club

3. What we hope to gain from this experience together.

If you missed the meeting and you still want to be a part of the group, please email me your responses to those three questions. sarah.lyon@hoodriver.k12.or.us

Next week we will focus on Nature Journaling and ways to connect with this season. I will have sketchbooks and colored pencils available for pick-up at HROA starting on Monday, 10/12 at noon. Please email me if you plan on picking up supplies so I can be sure there is enough set out.
